About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Report to the Product Engineer
  • Update SolidWorks models and drawings accurately and on deadline
  • Export and deliver production packages on time and error-free
  • Validate manufacturing samples against drawings and quality-control metrics
  • Review and update dimension sheets, file exports and quality documentation
  • Support quality and engineering specification documentation for internal and external partners
  • Keep launch tasks on track and flag delays promptly
  • Research industry and regulatory standards and propose appropriate test methods
  • Help design and build test fixtures, install products for testing, and execute test plans
  • Complete dimension verifications and prototype assessments
  • Operate and maintain the 3D printer
  • Research assortment gaps and competitive products to inform requirements
  • Answer technical questions from Brand and CX teams
  • Track Product team progress against business goals
  • Provide managers with clear information, options and recommendations
  • Own and track school co-op requirements
  • Follow and document model standards
  • Help build repeatable quality-control standards
  • Log development work weekly for SR&ED
  • Manage shifting priorities, communicate capacity, surface mistakes early, and act on feedback

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4th or 5th year Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering co-op student available January to August 2027
  • Local 3rd-year students are encouraged to apply
  • Confident in SolidWorks
  • Created and read mechanical drawings in a work term, design team or project
  • Run tests or lab experiments and documented results with controlled variables
  • Comfortable with hands-on work, hand tools, prototypes, and lab work
  • Able to manage multiple priorities against real deadlines and speak up early when priorities conflict
  • Curious and willing to question assumptions
  • SolidWorks is a must-have
  • Experience with 3D printing
  • Google Suite proficiency
  • Bonus: hands-on work terms in automotive, robotics or manufacturing
  • Bonus: student design team experience, such as Formula SAE
  • Bonus: exposure to sheet metal or injection molding
  • Bonus: GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, FEA, DFMEA or quality documentation
