About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver live instruction to train and onboard dbt customers, partners, and GSIs in small groups, large groups, and webinar audiences
- Create engaging learning environments initially in a remote context using Zoom and likely in person in the future
- Motivate learners to use dbt to create organizational impact
- Teach and demonstrate new concepts and skills
- Facilitate live co-development sessions where learners apply their learning
- Adapt instruction in real time while focusing on learner outcomes
- Provide classroom feedback to improve curriculum
- Become a dbt product expert within the modern data stack
- Contribute to education projects, including curriculum development and workflow improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years experience teaching with some data analytics experience OR 4+ years of data analytics experience with some teaching
- Experience writing SQL in an analytics context
- Passion for teaching and creating engaging learning experiences
- Ability to create learning environments with high levels of engagement
- Focus on learner and customer outcomes while adjusting instruction on the fly
- Commitment to seeking and applying feedback to improve teaching
- Clear and concise communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, cross-collaborative environment
- Bonus: Experience on customer education/training teams
- Bonus: Experience using or teaching dbt
- Bonus: Experience writing analytics code such as Python or R and working with databases
- Bonus: Experience designing curricula using backwards design
