About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the economics of the consumer deposit portfolio across products and segments, including cost of funds, mix strategy, deposit growth, retention, and margin
  • Set the multiyear direction for deposit pricing and management
  • Own rate strategy for standard pricing, promotional offers, and exception pricing
  • Present rate recommendations to pricing governance forums and executive audiences
  • Own consumer deposit portfolio P&L, including interest expense, net interest income, product and segment contribution, and performance against plan
  • Establish interest expense attribution and reconciliation with Finance and Treasury
  • Own deposit balance and rate forecasts, retention projections, assumptions, and scenario analysis
  • Build a forecasting capability controlled by the function
  • Lead insights and analytics covering price elasticity, behavioral segmentation, competitive and market insight, and portfolio reporting
  • Direct data science and modeling for deposit behavior, rate sensitivity, retention, and balance migration
  • Establish portfolio performance frameworks tracking cost of funds, acquisition, augmentation, and attrition
  • Build and lead the function across pricing, P&L management and forecasting, and insights and analytics
  • Establish accountability with Finance, Treasury, and enterprise data teams
  • Manage talent, including hiring, performance evaluations, development, disciplinary actions, succession planning, and compliance
  • Perform special projects and additional duties as required
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent), or equivalent work experience
  • 12+ years in deposit pricing, treasury, balance sheet management, or a related finance discipline
  • Leadership of pricing, P&L management, forecasting, and analytical work for a consumer deposit portfolio
  • Command of deposit economics, including cost of funds and net interest income
  • Ownership of a portfolio P&L, including interest expense, net interest income, product and segment contribution, and variance to plan
  • Ownership of balance and rate forecasts, scenario construction, and supporting analysis
  • Direction of analytical work, including price elasticity, behavioral segmentation, modeling, and performance analysis
  • Fluency in deposit pricing across product and segment
  • Experience presenting pricing and forecasting recommendations to executive and governance forums
  • Experience building and leading a multidisciplinary function spanning pricing, forecasting, and analytics
  • Occasional travel required
  • Ability to comply with regulatory and compliance policies and standards
  • Advanced degree in finance, economics, statistics, or a related quantitative field preferred
  • Banking or financial services experience preferred
  • Experience building deposit portfolio management, P&L, or analytical functions preferred
  • Experience establishing interest expense attribution or funds transfer pricing logic preferred
  • Familiarity with deposit behavioral modeling and price elasticity preferred
