About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take responsibility for value creation projects at portfolio companies, from analysis through implementation
- Develop new business areas and partnership models
- Develop pricing and packaging strategies, go-to-market initiatives, sales and process automation, and AI use cases
- Support a group of portfolio companies with guidance from experienced colleagues
- Act as a sparring partner to executive management
- Prepare board meetings, portfolio reviews, and quarterly reporting
- Derive concrete actions from reports and reviews
- Work closely with the investment team, from due diligence and add-on acquisitions through exit preparation
- Develop transferable best practices and playbooks
- Provide functional leadership to analysts and interns
- Regular on-site work at portfolio companies, approximately 1–2 days per week
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4–5 years of professional experience
- Ideally, 2–3 years at a leading strategy or management consultancy or in an in-house consulting role
- Ideally, 1–2 years in an operational role at a mid-sized company or startup
- Hands-on mentality and the ability to implement initiatives independently
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in Excel modeling and PowerPoint
- Experience with data, BI, or AI tools is a plus
- Excellent academic record, e.g., in business, industrial engineering, or computer science
- Interest in software and Internet companies
- Experience in a B2B SaaS environment is a plus
- Fluent German and English, with strong negotiation skills
