  • Identify, select, create, and modify instructional resources for students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs
  • Assess changing curricular needs and offer improvement plans

  • Communicate with students, parents, and internal and external professionals within established timelines
  • Collaborate with peers through team teaching, meetings, staff development, communities of practice, and committees

  • Ensure continuous and appropriate student growth and achievement
  • Establish cooperative working relationships with students, parents, schools, and colleagues
  • Meet course and school-wide student performance goals and demonstrate gains in student performance
  • Participate in research and presentations about online teaching, including authoring articles, hosting workshops, professional growth activities, and student outreach
  • Participate in blended learning, including online and classroom instruction across schools and districts in Florida
  • Report to an assigned school when required
  • Provide instructional tutoring when responsible
  • Meet professional obligations, deadlines, schedules, and coordination requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Florida resident
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in the assigned content area, or proof of active enrollment in a state-approved EPI or MAT program and either a valid Florida state-issued Statement of Eligibility or valid Temporary Certificate in the assigned content area
  • Endorsements as required by the Florida Department of Education
  • Three years’ teaching experience preferred
  • Operational knowledge of the Internet and web-related technologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
  • Ability to collaborate on group projects and work as part of a team
  • Responsibility, accountability, and self-motivation
  • Strong work ethic to achieve school goals
  • Effective prioritizing, organizing, and time-management skills; ability to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to learn and apply required and recommended FLVS computer applications
  • Ability to support FLVS core competencies, values, and expectations for student-centered behaviors
