About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build and own Flinks's internal developer platform: a Backstage-based portal and service catalog with software templates that scaffold production-ready services
  • Define the golden path from commit to production through pipeline templates, environment promotion, and progressive delivery using Kubernetes GitOps
  • Encode quality, security, and policy standards in templates and pipelines
  • Shape how AI agents and assistants operate in the SDLC, including access, review, tracing, and approval in a regulated environment
  • Partner with Security and Compliance on AI-enabled software delivery practices
  • Build agent-facing interfaces such as MCP servers exposing the catalog, pipelines, and infrastructure safely
  • Track agent-assisted changes using DORA and quality metrics
  • Evolve cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure and extend self-service using Terraform, declarative APIs, and pull requests
  • Reduce developer toil in local development, preview environments, test feedback, and pipeline duration
  • Gather developer feedback, document solutions, drive adoption, and maintain tested, versioned, maintainable platform code

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 8 to 10 years of experience in platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering, with real software development experience
  • Production programming experience; ability to write and maintain production code, not only configuration
  • Hands-on Backstage experience (catalog, software templates, TechDocs, plugins), or equivalent internal developer portal experience
  • Kubernetes, GitOps (Argo CD or Flux), and Terraform experience in a major cloud
  • CI/CD and release engineering experience, including pipeline templates, environment promotion, safe rollouts and rollbacks
  • Daily use of AI coding tools and a point of view on their role in the team SDLC
  • Working knowledge of observability: traces, metrics, logs, and SLOs
  • Ability to drive initiatives and build from scratch with minimal direction
  • Preferred: Custom Backstage plugin development or running Backstage at scale
  • Preferred: Building MCP servers or agent tooling, or integrating LLMs into CI/CD and developer workflows
  • Preferred: Governance for AI-generated code, including review standards, permission boundaries, and audit trails
  • Preferred: Policy-as-code and supply chain security, including OPA, Kyverno, SBOM, and artifact signing
  • Preferred: DORA metrics, developer satisfaction measurement, and ephemeral environments
  • Preferred: Regulated or financial-services delivery experience
