About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Financial Controller and Chief Accountant with accounting and financial operations
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
  • Ensure the quality, integrity, and reliability of financial data and document processes
  • Prepare documents required by auditors for the annual audit
  • Provide backup coverage for certain key processes
  • Participate in preparing and monitoring financial statements
  • Perform account reconciliations and prepare month-end working papers
  • Review selected work prepared by team members
  • Support accounting operations in the Divalto ERP system
  • Review and approve supplier payments through banking platforms
  • Serve as a point of contact for ERP users
  • Prepare tax returns and other government remittances
  • Follow up on auditor requests and maintain tax and financial documentation
  • Collaborate on tax audits and follow-up activities
  • Identify improvements and participate in standardizing accounting practices
  • Collaborate with IT teams on financial systems and tools
  • Support operational teams and participate in projects related to financial operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Relevant college or university education (DEC or bachelor’s degree) in accounting
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in financial accounting
  • Significant experience preparing financial closings and account reconciliations
  • Experience in an SME or a fast-paced, evolving environment is an asset
  • Experience in a multi-entity or multicurrency environment
  • Strong command of the full accounting cycle
  • Good knowledge of applicable accounting principles and standards
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with an ERP or integrated financial system
  • Experience with Power BI or other data analytics tools is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
  • High degree of independence in carrying out day-to-day responsibilities
  • Sound professional judgment
