About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Line-manage, coach, and develop Engineering Leads across multiple teams
  • Own performance management, career development, succession planning, and performance improvement plans
  • Own delivery confidence across teams, including cross-team planning, dependencies, risk, forecasting, and escalation reduction
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, and Professional Services on scope, sequencing, and trade-offs
  • Work with the VP and stakeholders on the agentic delivery lifecycle from specification through implementation, review, testing, and release
  • Decide where AI agents lead, where humans lead, and where human sign-off is required
  • Work hands-on in Cursor and Flow Next alongside individual contributors and Engineering Leads
  • Create versioned, reusable prompts, skills, and context as engineering artefacts
  • Build evaluation into the quality system and collaborate with Platform Engineering, Architecture, Cloud, and Security on model access, observability, audit trails, and cost
  • Deliver and use metrics and KPIs covering quality, flow, predictability, team health, and AI effectiveness
  • Establish standards for engineering process, Agile practices, technical quality, and AI-assisted career paths
  • Report to the VP of Engineering
  • Improve delivery quality, speed, predictability, and committed-date performance across teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience line-managing Engineering Leads, team leads, or equivalent leaders across multiple teams
  • Strong people leadership, performance coaching, and career progression experience across multiple teams
  • Deep technical understanding and credibility in engineering decisions, architecture, delivery trade-offs, and technical problem solving
  • Fluency in Cursor
  • Practical experience of AI-assisted or agentic engineering in a working team
  • Strong track record delivering high quality, improving speed over time, and hitting committed dates in complex product or customer-facing environments
  • Clear understanding of modern Agile and DevOps practices
  • Excellent stakeholder management
  • Experience with Java, JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, JavaScript, Spring, Angular, Flutter, Dart, iOS, Android, SQL, MongoDB, GCP, and Cursor
  • Must be located in the United States and work in the EST timezone
  • Willingness to work from the Cincinnati office as required
  • Willingness to travel internationally, especially to the UK, occasionally
