About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a member of the central services and Pharmacy Operations teams
  • Deliver therapeutic medication monitoring, protocol management, medication information, education, and performance improvement
  • Collaborate with Hematology/Oncology physicians and nursing staff to provide quality patient care
  • Coordinate drug therapy for Hematology/Oncology patients, including drug selection, genetic/biomarker testing, drug information, dosing, monitoring, outcomes management, retrospective utilization monitoring, and compliance
  • Support development of new regimen builds and inquiries
  • Provide consultation services to physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and other organizational members
  • Deliver current drug information on newly approved oncology and biologic therapies
  • Apply pharmacological and biopharmaceutical principles to clinical drug selection and use
  • Provide senior clinical support and education to department members
  • Review drug utilization reports and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop action plans addressing under- and over-utilization according to approved indications, NCCN Guidelines, and formulary requirements
  • Develop pharmacy, clinical, cost, and functional metrics to improve outcomes and cost control
  • Assess and implement improvements in oncology patient care and pharmacy practice
  • Provide clinical leadership to the Pharmacy Operations team and applicable committees
  • Participate in pharmacy organizations and implement improvement strategies
  • Assist with medication order set development and safe medication use
  • Implement and maintain continuous quality improvement strategies to mitigate drug errors
  • Execute project activities according to schedules, milestones, and processes
  • Develop and manage project documentation through implementation
  • Identify and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project life cycle
  • Perform other duties and assigned projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Florida resident candidate
  • Florida pharmacist license required
  • College degree in pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
  • Licensed pharmacist required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a clinical pharmacist working in a hospital, home health, community oncology, or other infusion center
  • Minimum experience requirement may be waived based on intensity of prior experience, such as completion of a PGY-2 Oncology Residency program
  • Valid state driver’s license required for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings
  • Good command of the English language
  • Microsoft Office proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in reporting systems and pivot tables
  • Ability to work remotely effectively as required
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Ability to lead projects from inception through implementation and assessment
  • Must pass background, drug, and nicotine screenings
  • New hires must receive required vaccinations, including influenza unless exempted
  • Must comply with company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy
