About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a member of the central services team delivering pharmaceutical support to clinical staff
  • Provide therapeutic medication monitoring, protocol management, medication information, education, and performance improvement
  • Collaborate with Hematology/Oncology physicians and nursing staff to provide quality patient care
  • Coordinate drug therapy processes for Hematology/Oncology patients
  • Support drug selection, including genetic/biomarker testing, dosing, monitoring, outcomes management, utilization monitoring, and compliance
  • Provide support for new regimen builds and inquiries
  • Consult with physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and other organizational members
  • Deliver current drug information on newly approved oncology and biologic therapies
  • Apply pharmacological and biopharmaceutical principles to clinical drug selection and use
  • Provide senior clinical support and education to department members
  • Review drug utilization reports and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop action plans addressing under- and over-utilization
  • Develop pharmacy, clinical, cost, and functional metrics
  • Contribute clinical leadership to the Pharmacy Operations team and committees
  • Participate in pharmacy organizations and implement improvement strategies
  • Assist with medication order set development and medication safety
  • Implement and maintain continuous quality improvement strategies
  • Execute and manage pharmacy projects, documentation, schedules, milestones, and budgets
  • Identify and communicate with project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Perform other assigned duties and projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Florida resident candidate
  • Florida Pharmacist License required
  • College degree in pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
  • Licensed pharmacist required
  • Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) preferred
  • Valid state Driver’s License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a clinical pharmacist working in a hospital, home health, community oncology, or other infusion center
  • Minimum experience requirement may be waived based on intensity of prior experience, such as completion of a PGY-2 Oncology Residency program
  • Good command of the English language
  • Effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to work remotely effectively as required
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Ability to lead projects from inception through implementation and assessment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in reporting systems and pivot tables
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and uses
  • Successful background, drug, and nicotine screening
  • Ability to meet required vaccination conditions of employment
