About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own customer billing and resolve billing issues
Manage accounts receivable and collections
Manage vendor invoices and payments
Own sales and use tax filings, registrations, and the broader filing calendar
Perform reconciliations and own the month-end close
Lead the two-person accounting team by setting priorities, reviewing work, and coaching team members
Direct AI agents and automation for repeatable finance work
Set standards, review automated outputs, and improve finance processes
Report to the Chief of Staff
Work with the Chief of Staff on accurate underlying financial reporting
Participate in a hiring process including a billing, AP, or filing scenario and an on-site leadership conversation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Hands-on ownership of AP, AR, billing, vendor payments, reconciliations, and month-end close
Experience training, leading, or reviewing others on a finance team
Experience with sales and use tax filings and registrations across states
Fluency with modern finance tools, including QuickBooks or NetSuite, Bill.com or Ramp, and Stripe-style billing
Daily use of AI tools in finance work
Experience in software, payments, subscription, or multi-location retail is a strong plus
Subscription billing experience is a bonus
CPA or progress toward a CPA is a bonus
Experience in cannabis or another tightly regulated industry is a bonus
Ability to work hybrid, three days per week at the Coconut Grove HQ in Miami
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Must not require employment visa sponsorship
