About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as the Owner's Commissioning Site Manager across multiple sites
- Direct general contractors, designers, commissioning agents, and vendors through Level 1 to Level 5 commissioning
- Commission chilled water, HVAC, electrical, BMS, and EPMS systems
- Witness and verify pre-functional and functional testing in the field
- Review commissioning plans, method of procedure documents, test scripts, and vendor startup reports against ASHRAE, BCxA, and NETA requirements
- Own the commissioning schedule and issues log for each site
- Surface failed tests, open punch items, and vendor readiness gaps
- Troubleshoot startup and performance issues on mechanical plant, electrical distribution, and controls
- Isolate root causes to design, installation, controls, or equipment
- Drive corrective actions through the responsible party to closure
- Stand up the commissioning program for 50GW+ of capacity this decade
- Run commissioning and QA-QC for first-of-a-kind modular data centers
- Automate Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning
Requirements
What you’ll need- Owner's commissioning lead experience on a hyperscale or mission critical data center build
- Experience holding general contractors, designers, commissioning agents, and vendors accountable to test plans and schedules
- Personally witnessed and signed off Level 1 to Level 5 mechanical testing
- Personally witnessed and signed off Level 1 to Level 5 electrical testing
- Experience testing to NETA specifications and commissioning to ASHRAE or BCxA guidelines
- Experience diagnosing startup failures and driving corrective actions
- Experience maintaining issues logs, test records, and turnover packages
- Experience briefing general contractors, designers, and owners in writing
- Bonus: BSc or MSc in mechanical or electrical engineering
- Bonus: BCxA or ASHRAE commissioning certification (CxA, CBCP, or similar)
- Bonus: Commissioning of first-of-a-kind modular data centers
- Bonus: Level 4 and Level 5 test automation
- Bonus: Water treatment and fuel oil system commissioning at campus scale
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be open to travel and relocation as applicable
