About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the on-site SME for data center critical infrastructure
  • Handle escalations across the white space and supporting facilities
  • Understand and manage site design limitations and risks
  • Audit colocation partners and service providers on maintenance programs and effectiveness
  • Own the change management process for high-risk maintenance activities
  • Act as the first responder on-site for incidents and drive resolution with engineering and infrastructure SMEs
  • Partner with colocation partners, vendors, and internal teams to maintain site reliability
  • Feed operational learnings back into design and process
  • Audit, document, and improve the site's operating posture

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience operating or leading critical-facilities operations in a live data center
  • Experience owning physical infrastructure that keeps a site running
  • Strong knowledge of critical-infrastructure systems, including power and cooling
  • Ability to serve as the on-site authority and handle escalations
  • Experience running change management for high-risk work
  • Ability to hold partners to a real maintenance standard
  • Ability to act as a calm, capable first responder during failures
  • Experience auditing, documenting, and improving site operating posture
  • Bonus: Hyperscale or colocation operations experience
  • Bonus: Familiarity with Uptime Institute or NFPA
  • Bonus: Critical environment and MOP/EOP experience
  • Bonus: Vendor and colo management experience
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required
