About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own rotating equipment for behind-the-meter generation, including turbines, engines, and generators
  • Specify, evaluate, and integrate rotating equipment
  • Engineer mechanical packages, including skids, auxiliaries, vibration, and alignment requirements
  • Run factory and site acceptance tests
  • Witness tests, punch equipment packages, and hold vendors to performance curves
  • Support the fleet by root-causing and engineering out rotating equipment reliability issues
  • Work on civilization-scale infrastructure for AI compute
  • Acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience engineering rotating equipment such as gas turbines, reciprocating engines, large pumps, or compressors
  • Experience owning equipment specifications and vendor technical evaluations
  • Experience witnessing factory acceptance tests and rejecting underperforming equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret vibration data
  • Experience root-causing rotating equipment failures in the field
  • Gas turbine or reciprocating package integration experience is a bonus
  • Fluency with API standards is a bonus
  • Experience with condition monitoring systems is a bonus
  • Power plant commissioning experience is a bonus
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Willingness to travel
  • Willingness to relocate
