About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a point of contact for CCDF audits, working with OCC staff, grants management staff, and other ACF/HHS entities to review and track audits and data reports
  • Review and cross-check audits against CCDF administration to assess compliance, performance, and disallowances
  • Coordinate management and oversight for single independent audits and OIG audits
  • Review audits, follow up on OCC actions and recommendations, track lead agency action steps, and analyze information from grantee plans, data, studies, reports, improper payment reports, and other materials
  • Support evaluation and assessment of grantee compliance with program requirements and performance
  • Ensure grantees comply with CCDF requirements and effectively implement CCDF plans
  • Support responses to requests and inquiries from the OIG and GAO
  • Track and analyze CCDF single audits, state plans, grantee data, disallowances, monitoring and accountability reports, and technical assistance contractor reports
  • Identify program trends, achievements, best practices, gaps, and concerns
  • Assist with oversight for programmatic and fiscal compliance with federal laws, policies, and regulations
  • Prepare position papers, briefing documents, data fact sheets, and other materials concerning child care programs
  • Develop alternatives, outline options, and prepare recommendations for effective child care programs
  • Prepare and support oral briefings or presentations on CCDF audit issues and concerns
  • Support Agency initiatives and projects and perform cross-functional tasks across OCC Divisions
  • Coordinate and build relationships with CCDF program-related staff, federal agencies, and non-federal entities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy, Auditing, or a closely related field
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in audit support or audit coordination at the federal or state level, federal grants management or oversight, financial compliance, monitoring, or accountability, or government program analysis or program integrity
  • Knowledge of/experience working with the CCDF/OHS or a federal grant program is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing, analyzing, or supporting Single Audits and audit-related documentation under federal funding requirements
  • Experience supporting compliance with federal laws, policies, regulations, and grant requirements, including tracking findings, recommendations, and corrective action plans
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefing materials, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple internal divisions and external partners in a remote or distributed work environment
