About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support billing and revenue-related activities in accordance with company policies and applicable GAAP revenue recognition requirements
- Review contracts for new business and process associated revenue and invoices
- Process churn and contraction requests
- Monitor customer aging and support collection activities, including outreach, dispute resolution, and escalation of past-due balances
- Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Finance to resolve contract, billing, and customer account issues
- Document and enforce internal policies and procedures
- Ensure billed and unbilled revenue accounting is correct under revenue recognition standards
- Maintain accurate customer, contract, and billing information across applicable systems
- Support internal controls over the order-to-cash process
- Prepare and maintain AR and revenue-related account reconciliations
- Investigate discrepancies between billing, revenue, CRM, and general ledger systems
- Assist with monthly close activities for accounts receivable, billing, deferred revenue, and revenue-related reconciliations
- Provide supporting documentation for audits
- Improve billing processes and procedures
- Complete special projects assigned by the Controller or VP of Finance
- Process SaaS sales orders in SaaSOptics (Maxio), verify contract details, and manage invoice distribution and dunning
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of accounting or related experience in a rigorous, fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, general accounting principles and procedures, and end-to-end business processes
- Experience with SaaSOptics, Salesforce, and QuickBooks Online is a plus
- Familiarity with SaaS business models, billing processes, and subscription-based revenue is a plus but not required
- Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing responsibilities
- High level of integrity, ownership, and accountability
- Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and planning skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels
- Ability to independently manage routine assignments and follow established procedures with minimal direct supervision
