About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain and review the general ledger, including closing entries, provisions, accrued expenses, accrued income and cut-off entries
Process or oversee supplier, customer, bank, fixed asset and other general ledger transactions
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyse income statement accounts
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual closings within required deadlines
Analyse variances and report irregularities or risks
Ensure accounting records and supporting documents are accurate, complete and traceable
Prepare information for annual accounts and statutory financial statements
Contribute to tax and periodic filings, particularly VAT returns
Assist with appendices, listings and other accounting and tax filings
Respond to requests from statutory auditors, tax advisers and external partners
Document accounting treatments and maintain supporting documentation
Record and reconcile intercompany transactions, recharges, shared costs and management fees
Review intercompany balances and coordinate with relevant entities
Contribute to accounting oversight of the French branch and certain German entities
Ensure costs and revenue are allocated correctly across entities, activities and periods
Improve closing procedures and internal controls across the international scope
Prepare accounting information for group financial reporting
Provide analysis and explanations for account movements and unusual items
Align accounting practices and document procedures
Improve data reliability and reduce manual work
Use and help optimise accounting and finance tools, including NetSuite

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
Proven general accounting experience, ideally in an international or multi-entity environment
Good knowledge of period-end closing processes and accounting and tax requirements
Experience with VAT and intercompany transactions is an advantage
Knowledge of NetSuite or another ERP system is an advantage
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Analytical mindset and ability to investigate variances
Ability to manage responsibilities independently and meet deadlines
Sense of responsibility and discretion when handling financial information
Good communication skills and ability to work with colleagues across countries and functions
Professional working knowledge of French and English
Knowledge of German is an advantage
Right to work in the EU; visa sponsorship is not available
