About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Write production code as a core contributor
- Own significant parts of the system end to end, including core modules, the transactional foundation, regulatory compliance, and integration surface
- Make and take accountability for architectural decisions affecting the platform's long-term viability
- Set engineering standards through code reviews, testing discipline, and thoughtful use of AI tooling
- Work directly with the PM and domain experts to turn business requirements into a system
- Define roles, run hiring loops, and make hiring decisions
- Grow existing engineers into independent owners of system components
- Introduce process when needed
- Carry the product through handover into the core business with the team intact
- Build the ERP platform and integrations with inventory, payments, and POS systems
- Later build and lead the engineering team around the ERP product
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years engineering, with time spent leading — as an EM, tech lead, or founding engineer
- Currently hands-on and coding regularly in the present role
- Meaningful experience building ERP or accounting systems
- Understanding of double-entry, period close, and ledger systems
- Strong full stack skills, from schema to screen
- Daily experience with AI agents and LLM tooling, with judgment about their appropriate use
- Experience building something from zero in a small team with unclear requirements and short cycles
- Genuine interest in both hands-on building and future team-building
- Ability to work substantially within GMT+3 hours
- Experience operating a ledger, double-entry engine, or transaction-processing system at scale (a plus)
- Fintech, banking, payments, or financial services background (a plus)
- Experience hiring and growing an engineering team from the first few people (a plus)
- Familiarity with ERP platforms including ERPNext, Odoo, NetSuite, or SAP (a plus)
- ZATCA e-invoicing or comparable regional regulatory experience (a plus)
