About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Translate customer and corporate vehicle motion performance needs and requirements into (sub)system requirements and specifications
- Develop longitudinal and lateral vehicle motion performance attributes for BlueCruise features
- Develop and validate vehicle motion performance algorithms in-vehicle
- Create in-vehicle Design Verification Methods for vehicle motion
- Calibrate vehicle motion performance algorithms in-vehicle
- Develop in-vehicle toolsets supporting development of the vehicle motion performance attribute
- Lead and coordinate root-cause analysis of vehicle motion performance error states
- Utilize AI tools and agents for data analysis and calibration optimization
- Travel to Arizona 2–4 weeks annually as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or a closely related field
- 3+ years of in-vehicle lateral or longitudinal motion development experience
- 3+ years of experience working with MATLAB/Simulink
- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and chassis components
- Ability to lead a small project, demonstrate ownership, and take initiative to further improve features
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Master's degree in a related engineering field (preferred)
- 5+ years of industry experience with steering, brake systems, and/or chassis controls development (preferred)
- 5+ years of industry experience with ADAS features and/or autonomous vehicle controls (preferred)
- Strong background in vehicle dynamics, system identification, optimization and control
- Experience with advanced model-based control techniques, including state estimation, Kalman filtering, and linear and nonlinear control methods
- Hardware hands-on experience, including dSpace rapid prototyping and Vector tools (preferred)
- Experience reviewing, categorizing, and analyzing field data to determine error states and failure modes
- Experience with model-based design methods in Simulink
- Algorithm development experience in C, C++, Python, MATLAB, or another language
