About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, refine, and execute design validation methods for ADAS HMD feature performance at component, system, and vehicle levels
- Complete sign-off of ADAS HMD feature performance
- Lead or support development of verification plans and methods
- Support ADAS HMD feature upgrades and enhancements through model changes, regression testing, test vectors, data review, issue identification, and supplier interaction
- Develop data analysis techniques for track and real-world validation performance data
- Coordinate with feature development engineers on design verification plans
- Collaborate with global functional partners to meet system and vehicle-level performance requirements
- Cascade system-level requirements to functional partners
- Lead or support development and sign-off of ADAS features on vehicle programs
- Support feature calibration studies
- Develop MATLAB and CAN tools for data collection and analysis
- Identify opportunities to use HiL and CAE methods for calibration and performance verification
- Plan and execute real-world ADAS evaluations through vehicle, HIL, and virtual testing
- Identify system problems and issues
- Support and coordinate root-cause analysis with internal functions and external suppliers
- Benchmark competitors and monitor public-domain requirements
- Collaborate with research engineers, user experience teams, designers, hardware and software developers to verify customer-facing ADAS attributes and capabilities
- Develop new verification methods using vehicle, hardware-in-the-loop, model-in-the-loop, and other advanced testing methodologies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Controls, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience developing/testing features using radars, cameras, lidars, ultrasonic sensors, or other related vehicle systems
- Familiarity with actuators and control systems
- Experience applying Systems Engineering principles
- Experience with robotic verification and testing methods
- Troubleshooting experience with electromechanical systems
- Experience with differential GPS equipment
- Experience using automotive interfaces: CAN, CANFD, Autosar, Auto-Ethernet, etc.
- Experience using Vector CANape, CANalyzer and dSPACE Controls Desk or similar tools
- Exposure to vehicle attributes development
- Experience in project management and/or an integration role
- Experience with failure mode analysis techniques
- Experience leading validation and verification of ADAS sensing systems
- Experience with computer vision and radar tracking
- Experience with computer vision detection and tracking of signs, lights, lanes and other artifacts
- Experience reviewing, categorizing, and analyzing field data to determine error states/failure modes
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink
- Experience with model-based design methods in Simulink
- Experience in verification techniques and vehicle data acquisition/analysis
- Experience with virtual validation methods (HIL/MIL/SIL)
- Strong leadership, communication, oral and written, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
