About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the team designing, coding, testing, releasing, and supporting Ford’s Enhanced Laboratory Management System (ELMS) for the Vehicle Evaluation and Verification organization
- Partner with operations teams and process leads to develop and deploy effective, performant, and reliable applications and tools
- Motivate and assist the team in applying process modeling and coding skills
- Coordinate assessment and adoption of hosting infrastructure and code-base technology updates
- Drive rapid and reliable resolution of local and global system faults and outages
- Ensure compliance with IT Systems Controls and Ford Information Security Policy requirements
- Establish an architectural view of transaction data for process analytics and insight discovery
- Facilitate effective use of AI tools for code generation and integrate AI-based functions
- Expand ELMS applications across regional and global test laboratory and business environments
- Identify and automate labor-intensive or disconnected data management and reporting functions
- Collaborate with Corporate IT on system independence, integration, control, infrastructure, and servers
- Deliver infrastructure as code in cloud environments
- Develop secure connections and APIs between ELMS and Ford systems; provision and populate cloud data repositories
- Enable test-site automation and reporting capabilities, including third-party laboratory system connections
- Build shared resources, frameworks, best practices, and libraries
- Develop ELMS performance and utilization tools
- Modernize ELMS using web application technologies, cloud platforms, AI, and tablet/mobile platforms
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- 5+ years’ experience with operations management processes and supporting software tools creation and development
- Familiarity with systems and tools related to prototype build plan and test operations management processes, including finance, purchasing, capital spend, supplier relations, ERP, vehicle program management, PLM-System Requirements, data acquisition systems, and real-time control systems
- Experience building effective and robust web applications supporting transactional processes and workflows
- Experience leading and developing a diverse team
- 5+ years’ experience with MS Office Applications: Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
- Experience defining use cases and applicable user interfaces through process inquiry and analysis
- Experience selecting and assembling user interfaces for robust transactional inputs and workflows
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Preferred: familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, Java, and SQL
- Preferred: understanding or direct experience with relational and semi-structured data models, including JSON
- Helpful experience with Git/GitHub, Google Cloud Platform, Miro, Jira, API Design, authentication and security models/methods, MS Power BI, MS Power Apps, and mobile app development
