About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain the IPTSE GRID Database and ensure IPTSE team assignment for GRID items
  • Lead and coordinate technical investigations into potentially critical safety defects, FMVSS non-compliance, and emission/environmental regulatory concerns
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes
  • Support IPTSE teams in preparing and presenting technical data packages, risk assessments, and engineering recommendations to CCRG and EPRC
  • Partner with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Technical Assistance, Office of General Counsel, and plant vehicle teams
  • Gather data, review supplier processes, and align on corrective actions
  • Provide problem-solving support for potential vehicle safety, compliance, and emissions-related issues
  • Influence decisions regarding Stop Ships, Field Service Actions, and product recalls

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, Systems, Environmental, or a related engineering discipline)
  • 10+ years of experience in automotive product development, quality engineering, systems engineering, or regulatory compliance
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems, including powertrain, electrical, chassis, software, or emissions control systems
  • Demonstrated experience in automotive root-cause analysis methodologies, such as 8D, Shainin, Six Sigma, Fishbone, and Fault Tree Analysis
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to distill complex technical data into clear, concise presentations for executive leadership and regulatory review boards
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams under tight timelines
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
