About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Process payroll according to federal, state, and regional pay guidelines, including the UAW CBA, ensuring accurate and timely payment
- Follow the Payroll Runbook and assist in auditing payroll runs and pre-validating data
- Execute payroll runs and related processes using Oracle Cloud Payroll System
- Review post-pay-period variance analysis for earnings, tax deductions, and other paycheck elements; prepare explanations as needed
- Process repayment of unearned wages in collaboration with Payroll, Cash Application, and Receivables teams
- Assist with year-end W-2 processing
- Coordinate with HR areas and external partners to ensure complete payroll records and W-2s
- Maintain accuracy of paid time off plan configurations and balances under statutory plans and the UAW CBA
- Assist with supplemental unemployment payments for five states under UAW CBA guidelines
- Assist with implementation of a new hourly timekeeping system
- Research and resolve discrepancies and internal and external audit requests
- Support HR and Employee Benefits teams with FLSA, FMLA, and other payroll compliance changes and programs
- Troubleshoot system issues and test configuration changes
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and correcting inefficiencies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required
- 2+ years of experience processing and/or calculating payroll in multi-state environments
- Familiarity with payroll software and/or systems, including Oracle Cloud or a similar payroll system
- Familiarity with timekeeping software and/or systems is highly desirable
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) desirable
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Visa sponsorship is not available
