About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop sourcing plans enabling commercial negotiations and strategic sourcing while supporting supplier onboarding dates and program targets
  • Lead target sign-off processes with match-pairs
  • Prepare RFQs, evaluate supplier quotations, and complete commercial agreements
  • Lead QCDR processes and plans to deliver full-year objectives for commodity suppliers
  • Develop and maintain supplier partnerships
  • Lead supplier commercial negotiations and drive cost-reduction strategies
  • Manage and annually update category strategy across regions
  • Identify and develop suppliers to meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives
  • Complete critical sourcing decisions and work with new suppliers on industrialization plans
  • Develop commodity strategies and roadmap actions to enable on-time sourcing and target achievement
  • Manage supplier relationships through QCDR reviews, negotiations, feedback, and data-driven resolution of claims
  • Present sourcing strategies to executive leadership
  • Support future model program workshops and commodity management
  • Execute negotiation strategies to deliver material cost targets based on commodity cost drivers
  • Support quality initiatives and hold suppliers accountable for Q1 delivery
  • Understand supply base footprint, financial health ratings, technologies, and trends
  • Work cross-functionally on new supplier introductions
  • Develop material cost roadmaps and lead supplier negotiations
  • Conduct supplier meetings to drive issue resolution and relationship development
  • Attend internal and external stakeholder meetings
  • Provide support to SOT, STA, and MP&L when supplier quality and delivery issues emerge
  • Complete required training and close commercial issues promptly

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration or Finance, OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of procurement and supply chain experience
  • Travel as required to supply partners
  • Availability to work hybrid (4 days in Dearborn and 1 day optional remote)
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Experience with engine castings commodities (preferred)
  • Master's degree (preferred)
  • 3+ years of direct automotive procurement and supply chain experience (preferred)
  • Experience with strategic sourcing and cost negotiations (preferred)
  • Desire to strengthen negotiation skills and fact-based problem solving (preferred)
