About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define connected vehicle technical, security, privacy, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Own Ford cloud interface definitions and connectivity architecture requirements
  • Define Ford Well-Known Signals, event models, signal mappings, enumerations, units, and expected vehicle behavior
  • Maintain requirements through change-control and legal-review processes
  • Communicate Ford feature expectations and technical requirements to suppliers
  • Drive closure of feature gaps between Ford and supplier implementations
  • Review supplier sequence diagrams, implementation proposals, and architectural responses
  • Ensure supplier solutions align with Ford architecture and interfaces
  • Define and govern Ford cloud integration requirements
  • Own customer authorization, account-linking, VIN association, activation, and deactivation workflows
  • Govern fleet-management, feature-package, and remote-command cloud services
  • Define customer authorization, onboarding, disclaimers, setup wizard, UI/UX, profile synchronization, and user-management expectations
  • Define privacy controls, consent requirements, data-sharing behaviors, regional compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Establish governance for fleet-privacy and dual-consent frameworks
  • Define OTA/MMOTA deployment requirements and strategies
  • Own software-update content, rollout policies, and version governance
  • Define cloud deployment requirements for emissions, battery-health, and regulatory data reporting
  • Define End-of-Line provisioning, cloud registration, SyncP key allocation, supplier-feed integration, carrier provisioning, and SIM activation processes
  • Define operational behavior for remote climate control, remote start, lock/unlock, vehicle health alerts, vehicle location, EV charging, panic alarms, and stolen vehicle services
  • Establish command responses, status-reporting requirements, fleet telematics signals, events, and command capabilities
  • Verify supplier implementation compliance with Ford architectures and requirements
  • Validate signal mappings, telemetry behavior, status reporting, and cloud integrations
  • Confirm regulatory, privacy, and customer experience requirements are satisfied
  • Define fleet enrollment and feature-package management requirements
  • Govern telematics payload definitions, data integrity, reporting expectations, and fleet remote-command authorization lifecycle

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field OR a combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of systems engineering, connected vehicle, telematics, cloud services, or infotainment experience
  • Experience defining and managing system, feature, and interface requirements
  • Understanding of vehicle-to-cloud architectures and connected vehicle ecosystems
  • Experience with requirements management, traceability, change management, and system integration
  • Knowledge of vehicle communications, telematics, remote commands, and data collection systems
  • Experience working with software, cloud, hardware, mobile application, cybersecurity, legal, and supplier organizations
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, privacy, consent management, and data governance principles
  • Experience validating system functionality and supplier compliance
  • Strong technical communication and supplier management skills
  • Ability to analyze system architectures, technical specifications, and integration designs
  • Experience supporting issue resolution across vehicle, cloud, and mobile platforms
  • Visa sponsorship is available
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • Knowledge or experience with Ford connectivity ecosystems, FordPass, TMC, TCAM, telematics platforms, cloud-connected vehicle services, global automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, OTA/MMOTA, privacy regulations, fleet management, APIs, cloud interfaces, digital identity, connected vehicle diagnostics, EV charging, AAOS, GAS, provisioning, SIM activation, system verification, validation planning, defect management, and architecture governance (preferred)
