Key responsibilities & impact

Define and establish AI-native engineering practices for Ford Energy
Use generative AI and AI-assisted development across design, implementation, testing, infrastructure, and delivery
Build practical AI/ML capabilities and intelligent automation for operational problems
Work directly with operations, product, customer, and business stakeholders to understand problems
Translate operational needs into deployed software
Write application code in Go and related services
Design and operate cloud infrastructure on GCP
Own automation, environments, and pipelines for reliable production delivery
Design, develop, and secure applications, API integrations, and edge systems around ERP, CRM, and MES platforms
Build cloud-native services, IoT/edge workflows, infrastructure-as-code, and production-ready software
Convert ambiguous requirements into secure, reliable working systems
Build relationships with stakeholders and customers
Contribute to engineering standards, design and code quality, architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical knowledge sharing

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience as a software engineer
Strong background in hands-on development, systems architecture, and integrating production systems
Experience across application engineering, cloud infrastructure, and production delivery automation
Experience with greenfield development and enterprise platform integrations
Track record of taking ambiguous, high-stakes problems from first conversation to working software in production
Demonstrated experience with AI/ML in production or applied business contexts
Experience using generative AI tools to accelerate development across the SDLC
Experience with Go, Python, TypeScript, API design, GCP, and modern cloud architectures
Experience with infrastructure-as-code, cloud environments, and delivery automation
Ability to navigate ambiguous, fast-changing environments and deliver simple, secure solutions under tight timelines
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to partner across diverse technical and business teams as an individual contributor
Ability to operate with minimal process and significant latitude
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
