About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead development and delivery of best-in-class performance for branded and non-branded audio systems
  • Coordinate with Ford audio component engineers and cross-functional teams to align system requirements and resolve integration challenges
  • Serve as the central coordination point between internal Ford teams and suppliers
  • Translate customer and program needs into clear technical direction
  • Guide audio system development from concept through validation and launch
  • Facilitate design reviews, manage issues and trade-offs, and align stakeholders on performance, quality, cost, and timing objectives
  • Assess supplier solutions, track deliverables, and ensure compliance with Ford technical and program requirements
  • Lead structured problem resolution for DEMS, VOCF, and FCPA audit issues using SIMPSN and 8D disciplines
  • Use CAN tools to flash audio-system DSPs, diagnose system interactions, and analyze CAN logs and message structures
  • Deliver audio-system commitments to GPDS milestones, including sourcing, packaging, device transmittals, subsystem compatibility, documentation, DV, prototype support, and software and EQ releases
  • Support prototype builds across BB, DCV, TT, PP, MP1, and MP2 phases
  • Conduct vehicle-level DV and oversee thermal and acoustic validation testing
  • Partner with the Core Team to resolve specification issues and align technical decisions with program requirements and timing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • At least two years of design and release experience
  • Experience with Ford systems and processes, such as WERS, AVBOM, AIMS, eFDVS, GPDS, and Integrator
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with 8D, 6-Panel, and FMEA methodologies
  • Familiarity with acoustics and equalization (EQ), thermal management, power amplification, software development, vehicle CAN communications, or electronic-module packaging
  • Proactive, self-motivated approach, with strong attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork, organizational, leadership, oral communication, and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal Ford teams and external stakeholders, including suppliers
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities while meeting program milestones
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
