About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Understand the assigned category with Category Managers and Category Implementors to review current and future states and identify purchase-consolidation or market-testing opportunities
- Maintain the SAP Ariba Catalog Module, including master data and business entity restrictions
- Oversee change management by maintaining technical documentation on SharePoint and updating Quick Reference Guides
- Negotiate pricing and purchasing terms with suppliers to support quality, delivery and cost goals
- Collaborate with manufacturing, finance and logistics teams to forecast purchasing needs and align purchasing activities with operational priorities
- Manage timely purchases, including one-time orders, and identify opportunities to combine purchases
- Create, maintain and renew purchasing contracts and ongoing purchase agreements, including item and pricing updates
- Build supplier relationships and improve purchasing processes, including automation, to reduce waste and manage costs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, logistics, supply chain or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2 to 5 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, or a related analytical/business role
- Proficiency in English and Spanish
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and suppliers
- Ability to evaluate purchasing needs and negotiate purchasing terms
- Ability to use procurement tools such as SAP Ariba or comparable purchasing software
- Advanced degree in technical and business fields (preferred)
- Experience leading IT projects in the global manufacturing industry (preferred)
- Knowledge of current technologies and trends for supply chain management (preferred)
- Availability to work under a hybrid schedule at the corporate office
