About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide employee relations support including performance coaching and counseling, disciplinary actions, separations, investigations, complex HR advice, employee concerns, complaints and disputes through resolution, agency charges, and HR policy advice
  • Assure the quality of assigned employee relations programs and processes
  • Prepare investigative documentation, including interview notes and reports
  • Use the case management system to manage and track cases from intake to resolution
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to further Company and Employee Relations team goals
  • Partner with relevant control functions on investigations and outcomes
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies supporting high-quality employee relations
  • Use data and metrics to improve policy, process, and training and educate employees
  • Monitor regulations, best practices, and trends to inform continuous improvement
  • Make recommendations to and liaise with operations and HR
  • Act with the highest integrity
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience conducting investigations
  • Experience investigating and advising on complex HR matters
  • Passion for the employee and ability to empathize with their needs
  • Collaborative and empathetic approach to solving problems with teams across Ford
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Resiliency, creative thinking and strong problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Title VII, ADEA, ADA, and related U.S. employment laws
  • Experience handling charges from the EEOC and similar state agencies
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality results while handling multiple priorities
  • Prior experience working with agile cross-functional teams
  • Strong business acumen, systems thinking and holistic perspectives

  • Ability to communicate across skill teams, regions, and at all levels
  • Strong coaching and facilitation skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
