About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide manufacturing engineering leadership throughout a new model development program through Ok to Buy plus 45 days
- Implement new or modified tooling and facilities based on product and process changes
- Lead manufacturing assembly builds in Canada, Mexico, and United States assembly plants
- Identify and drive resolution of manufacturing-related issues
- Collaborate with multifunctional activities and teams
- Write, modify, and maintain process sheets after Final Design Judgement
- Write tooling design, build, and installation scopes of work
- Lead assembly tooling installation, start-up, and commissioning at assembly sites
- Support tooling buy-off at vendor facilities
- Drive quality, cost, and labor improvements
- Develop plant layouts and drive Cycle Line Layouts
- Lead or manage key VME areas for upfront feasibility processes during GPDS phases
- Prepare and lead management presentations through Ok to Buy
- Support Program Cost Study responses and cross-functional alignment
- Support resolution of architecture and high-investment plant issues to mitigate launch risks
- Document and present lessons learned to create or update manufacturing standards
- Travel extensively to the Kansas City Assembly Plant through 2028
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical preferred)
- 3+ years' Automotive Manufacturing Engineering experience
- 3+ years' experience with tooling, processes, and facilities
- 3+ years' CAD experience
- Solid understanding of statistics, including control charts and data collecting
- Knowledge of Ford software systems such as AVBOM, WERS, GSPAS/APT, Teamcenter, AIM, and CPARS
- Experience in one or more of Interior, Exterior, Chassis, Powertrain, Electrical, Water test, or End of Line
- Error proofing experience
- Product launch experience and issue resolution capability
- Manufacturing experience, including CAD design and tooling design
- Experience working with Tier 1 OEM suppliers and partners
- VISA sponsorship is not available
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
