About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute cross-domain Mechatronics Subsystem integration across vehicle programs
- Define electro-mechanical requirements and interfaces
- Define subsystem electrical architectures, including hardware, software, electrotechnical requirements, and system performance specifications
- Enable software-hardware co-development
- Test and validate electro-mechanical subsystems
- Apply standardized templates, mathematical models, and engineering frameworks to assigned vehicle programs
- Decompose feature-level or system-level requests into synchronized mechanical, electrical, and software requirements
- Interface with Feature, System, VHE Hardware, and CVS Software teams
- Develop Subsystem Boundary Diagrams, Interface Control Documents, and Subsystem Electrical Block Diagrams
- Lead vehicle build issue triage across Breadboard, HIL, and plant-floor environments
- Investigate data logs, identify root causes, and define containment plans for cross-domain failures
- Align Agile software sprints in Jira with Waterfall mechanical hardware timelines in GPDS
- Coordinate subsystem timelines, risk mitigation plans, and integration readiness with D&R teams
- Maintain traceability from feature intent to component execution
- Develop subsystem-level verification and sign-off plans
- Deliver boundary diagrams, CDS specifications, physical-to-electrical transfer-function models, integration readiness reviews, root-cause and containment plans, and verification/sign-off plans
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years’ experience delivering products, systems, Design and Release, or features from conception to launch
- 3+ years of experience collaborating across competing engineering domains
- 3+ years of experience working in a cross-functional team environment
- Experience bridging physical hardware limitations and software controls (Mechatronics)
- 3+ years’ automotive fuel subsystems experience
- Experience with Ford Global Product Development System (GPDS) deliverables and timing
- Proficiency in JIRA, FEDE and JAMA
- Technical experience using VSEM, Boundary Diagrams, and Component Design Specification (CDS)
- Experience with in-vehicle architectures and CAN, LIN, and Ethernet network communications
- Experience with Component Design and Release (D&R), program management and planning, business strategy, and product coordination
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink or Mathcad
- Prior experience as a Systems Engineer, Subsystem Lead, or Integration/Test Engineer on a major vehicle program
- Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Visa sponsorship is not available
