About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead design end to end, owning feature areas and workstreams from research-informed concepts, flows, and prototypes through polished, production-ready interfaces
- Work with Product Management, Engineering, and Research to set design direction, priorities, and delivery plans centered on customer needs
- Design experiences for real-time video, vehicle commands, energy and charging management, and home power integration
- Identify gaps and dependencies across customer experience, technical implementation, and business objectives, and propose practical solutions
- Use customer insights, research, analytics, and product data to shape decisions, explain rationale, and measure results
- Facilitate design reviews and discussions, raising open questions, dependencies, and risks early
- Apply and contribute to Ford’s design system and brand standards
- Give thoughtful critique, mentor peers, and share knowledge
- Lead design for Ford’s mobile app, an essential companion connecting customers with vehicle status, commands, control features, and ownership experiences
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience
- 5+ years of UX/UI or digital product design experience, including designing and shipping consumer mobile products
- Advanced Figma skills
- Strong portfolio of mobile product design work
- Portfolio demonstrating visual excellence and depth on complex, technical product challenges
- Experience using research, data, and analytics to guide and validate design decisions
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage a defined project or feature area
- Record of leading projects or workstreams across disciplines and influencing partners without formal authority
- Experience supporting peers through design critique or mentorship
- Experience with connected devices, IoT, smart home, energy, or EV products is an advantage
- Automotive UI/HMI experience is an advantage
- Familiarity with Agile methods, design systems, and human-centered design is an advantage
- Experience with AI-enabled workflows, motion design, prototyping, or coding is a plus
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Visa sponsorship is not available
