About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee NAVL and Ford Pro vehicle logistics operations
- Direct full lifecycle vehicle logistics operations, ensuring vehicles are routed, processed, upfitted, and delivered to dealer, commercial, and retail customers
- Design and continuously optimize Ship-Thru, Drop Ship, and Upfitter networks
- Lead operational readiness, process design, and launch execution for commercial fleet accounts, new vehicle lines, and evolving Ford Pro business models
- Provide operational oversight during weekends, off-shifts, and holidays to align with plant production schedules
- Engineer and implement logistics processes to eliminate bottlenecks, reduce transit and dwell times, and minimize finished vehicle inventory aging
- Track and optimize ETA accuracy, milestone reliability, transit performance, and miss-ship prevention
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for miss-ships, routing errors, inventory discrepancies, and system disruptions
- Collaborate with plants, carriers, upfitters, suppliers, railroads, and 3PL providers
- Deliver executive briefings, KPI dashboards, business cases, and operational reviews for NAVL and Ford Pro senior leadership
- Coach, mentor, and guide cross-functional teams
- Oversee operational reviews, DCC/ZCC reporting, and action-plan tracking
- Govern logistics expenditures, premium freight, spot-buy authorizations, cost recovery, and budgets
- Partner with IT and software vendors to define requirements, deploy logistics visibility tools, and lead multi-plant technology rollouts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to speak or present to Senior Ford Leadership regularly
- Ability to positively influence change
- Ability to handle complexity and multitasking
- Ability to work with cross-functional groups to resolve concerns
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to make decisions and work independently
- Proficiency in Excel (required)
- Proficiency in PowerPoint (required)
- Analytics/data-mining mindset
- Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance work productivity
- Ford system QLS and AVS understanding preferred
- Experience interfacing with Ford departments such as FCSD, Marketing & Sales, Finance, and Plants preferred
- Experience interfacing with industry groups such as other OEMs and AIAG preferred
- Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) experience highly preferred
- Plant Operations understanding highly preferred
- Approximately 25% travel; overnight travel may be required when assigned plants are outside Southeast Michigan
- Ability to attend meetings with Ford teams around the globe requiring early or late arrivals and departures
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
