About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead payroll operations support in partnership with the U.S. Payroll team in Dearborn, Michigan
  • Validate payroll-to-bank interfaces and coordinate paper check issuance and delivery
  • Process stop-pay requests and related banking activities
  • Review termination and deceased employee documentation and process final payments
  • Coordinate check-in-hand delivery when required
  • Validate payroll funding requests and process external service provider payments
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and process third-party payments
  • Monitor aged uncashed paper checks
  • Supervise, train, and mentor payroll staff in accordance with Service Level Agreements
  • Manage day-to-day service center operations and performance
  • Serve as senior escalation point for complex payroll matters
  • Ensure compliance with policies, controls, data privacy standards, and confidentiality requirements
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and IT on payroll processes, accounting activities, reporting, and system integrations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Preference for Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Business, with knowledge in payroll, accounting, and/or finance controller roles
  • Fluent communication in English (spoken, written, and comprehension)
  • Experience leading or supervising a service-oriented team
  • Ability to handle employee concerns confidently, independently, and professionally
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Familiarity with SharePoint preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle complex interactions while building relationships across teams and locations
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model at the GTBC in Naucalpan, Mexico
