About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure 100% BOM accuracy for global product vehicle lines, powertrain, transmission plants, frame assembly and battery assembly managed centrally from India
  • Liaise with Plant MP&L, PD, NMP, PVT, VOME and other cross-functional teams to resolve Bill of Material discrepancies
  • Perform PPM launch-related activities with NMP and Program teams to ensure timely system setups
  • Track new PDLs, CRFs and TIBs in the region and drive teams to ensure MP&L and PPM timings are supportable
  • Represent PPM in PST meetings, Regional BOM and Order meetings, and Directors' reviews; highlight open issues and discuss next steps and containment plans
  • Resolve BOM queries and discrepancies and ensure accurate supplier release data
  • Support engineering change implementation for TVM, cost reduction and revenue enhancement product actions
  • Use EMPRESS for part definition based on PDL and verify part-to-part usage and quantity per vehicle for ongoing production, bundle changes, added-starter and major launches
  • Conduct BOM audits to ensure supplier release accuracy and communicate discrepancies to plant teams for interim and permanent fixes
  • Prepare and maintain commodity audits and conduct part-list audits for BOM structures
  • Support physical BOM validation at manufacturing plants for new models, major launches, bundle programs and added-starter programs
  • Support best-process identification and training development for the PPM organization
  • Collaborate with plant MP&L and Industrial Engineering to develop a Teledata handbook for broadcast chart coding
  • Ensure accurate Broadcast Bill of Material coding in the mainframe system with reference to launch milestones and engineering changes
  • Manage material release and sourcing changes for North America vehicle plants and respond to supplier release queries
  • Improve processes through smart ideas, automated workflows and dashboards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Graduate from Engineering Discipline
  • 3+ years of experience with Engineering change and BOM management
  • Experience in engineering change management, Bill of Material Management, Production Development, Design & Research
  • Good communication and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Vehicles & Power trains
  • Hands-on experience in ERP (SAP), Engineering management and Material management systems
  • Knowledge and experience with automation tools including Alteryx, Python, Qliksense, Power Automate, Power BI and GCP
  • Willingness to work in flexible shift timings based on the plant and DnR regions handled
  • Ability to support North America, South America, Europe and Australia time zones
