About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, validate, and release parts for assigned programs
  • Identify design improvements to increase quality and optimize cost and weight
  • Interface between the Core Electronic Systems team and vehicle program teams to ensure deliverables are met at each program milestone
  • Work with suppliers and Vehicle Architecture engineers to package ECUs in the vehicle environment
  • Manage VSEM, Teamcenter, FEDE, JIRA, AIMS, QED, WERS, and Control Tech
  • Lead supplier teams in supporting builds with parts, CRs, and alerts
  • Support program builds, lead vehicle-level validation testing, and lead issue resolution
  • Review existing benchmarking data and obtain new data as needed to ensure optimal design and cost at J1
  • Contribute to corporate and department TVM (Total Value Management) and quality objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active student from any of the last 2 semesters of Electrical, Electronic, Systems, Mechanical–Electrical, Mechatronics, or Aeronautical studies
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent study level
  • 90% English skills (oral, reading, writing, and listening)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • General knowledge of vehicle functions and electronic and/or vehicle systems
  • Knowledge of automotive industry environment; working experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of materials properties and production process
  • Excellent organization, communication, time/program management, and presentation skills
  • Electrical-mechanical background with electrical and mechanical interface knowledge
  • Experience with supplier management and negotiations
  • Working knowledge of engineering disciplines, including P-diagram, DFMEA, and DVP&R
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical subsystem design specifications
  • Attitude to learn and teamwork
