About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Automate sensor diagram generation in Microsoft Visio using VBA scripts, macros, and API integrations for Design Verification workflows
  • Develop and maintain MATLAB® and Python tools to parse data, generate schematics, and validate sensor wiring and connector pinouts
  • Architect and populate a centralized relational database for sensor connector pinouts, families, electrical specifications, and ECU interface pin assignments
  • Support Powertrain Calibration and OBD Engineers with Design Verification test plans and sensor monitoring strategies
  • Process vehicle and laboratory test data using Python/MATLAB for automated data reduction, behavior analysis, and diagnostic validation reporting
  • Collaborate with calibration teams on OBD-II monitors and exhaust sensor functionality
  • Analyze engineering workflows and bottlenecks using LEAN/Kaizen continuous improvement principles
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, engineering guidelines, and standardized diagram templates

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active student in one of the last 2 semesters of Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related engineering degree
  • 90% English skills in oral communication, reading, writing, and listening
  • Proficiency in MATLAB® programming, including scripting, data handling, file I/O, and tool/GUI development
  • Microsoft Visio skills or Visio API experience, including VBA macros, stencil automation, or automated diagram drawing
  • Proficiency in Python scripting, data manipulation such as pandas, and automation scripts
  • Foundational understanding of electrical circuits and sensors, including wiring schematics, connector pinouts, and basic sensor signals
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, initiative, self-learning capability, and enthusiasm for powertrain systems and vehicle diagnostics
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL is desirable
  • Basic exposure to powertrain and OBD-II fundamentals is desirable
  • Familiarity with automotive calibration and diagnostic tools such as ETAS INCA, CANape, and ATI Vision is desirable
  • Familiarity with CAN/LIN vehicle network protocols is desirable
  • Basic understanding of automotive wiring harness architecture and physical connectors is desirable
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub is desirable
