About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the product vision and roadmap for Customs IT to maximize business value.
Engage customers and business stakeholders to discover needs, validate problems, and identify opportunities.
Prioritize the roadmap based on customer impact, strategic alignment, and delivery feasibility.
Balance competing requests across NA, EU, and IMG stakeholders.
Own and refine the product backlog, write epics and stories, and ensure sprint-planning readiness.
Build business cases and communicate ROI, cost savings, and developer productivity gains.
Conduct experimentation and build products that accelerate developer flow.
Enable seamless application development and deployment on GCP, OpenShift, and GKE.
Encourage inner-source collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams.
Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions for code acceleration and technical-debt reduction using LLMs, Agentic AI, and RAG.
Drive DevSecOps adoption and embed security throughout the development lifecycle.
Provide expert guidance on developer tooling, best practices, and emerging technologies.
Lead code reviews and provide feedback on code quality, architecture, and best practices.
Champion continuous improvement of the platform, processes, and developer experience.
Collaborate with development teams, architects, product managers, security teams, and the Tools team.
Present at team meetings, workshops, and conferences and represent development-team needs to other departments.

Requirements

What you’ll need

A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
10+ years of experience in project management and software development, focused on Java, Angular, and Spring Boot.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with Agile methodologies, including product vision and strategy, product roadmaps, and backlogs.
Deep understanding of object-oriented design principles and patterns.
Proven track record driving adoption of developer tools and best practices.
Deep understanding of modern development tools and technologies, including VS Code, IntelliJ with Copilot, Git, Gradle, Tekton, Terraform, OpenShift/Kubernetes, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Cycode/SAST, and FOSSA.
Experience with cloud platforms; GCP preferred, Azure/AWS nice to have.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Mainframe and COBOL nice to have.
Familiarity with customs regulations, trade compliance processes, or FTA requirements nice to have.
Experience with developer enablement initiatives, DevSecOps, API design and development, and microservices architecture.
Experience mentoring and coaching junior developers.
Knowledge of LLMs, Agentic AI, and RAG.
End-to-end program/project management experience.
Java, Angular, and Spring Boot mandatory; GCP implementation experience good to have.
Understanding of CI/CD, cloud technologies, software architecture patterns, TDD, Java full stack, GCP offerings, and databases.
