About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop optimized sensor subsystem functionality to improve sensor accuracy and consistency and support functional and emissions compliance
- Lead robustness studies into subsystem capability across the vehicle fleet and full useful vehicle life
- Support the Calibration technical community in reviewing future sensor implementation and ensuring proper function
- Develop requirements for development hardware interfacing with new sensors
- Implement instrumentation for special test vehicles and define special monitoring using continuous flight recorders
- Develop special testing hardware based on microprocessor and development board designs, including associated software
- Lead the Feature Expert List for sensor calibration values used in production vehicles
- Develop gasoline LEV4 exhaust sensor subsystems, focusing on sensor and subsystem life aging and accuracy improvements
- Lead studies of improved exhaust system designs for optimal emissions and sensor availability
- Support LIN-based coolant level sensors
- Lead oil level subsystem verification
- Support SENT sensor subsystem verification
- Benchmark competitors on key exhaust-sensor system attributes
- Support sensor-level problem-solving investigations on pre-production and production vehicles
- Lead system-level robustness documentation on exhaust sensors with core design and release engineers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- BS Engineering degree required
- Electrical engineering with strong mechanical understanding, or Mechanical engineering background with strong electrical understanding preferred
- Experience and capability to work with data acquisition tools such as oscilloscopes, CAN interfaces, calibration tool interfaces, and custom microprocessors
- Experience and expertise in post-processing data in Matlab or equivalent tools
- Experience with microprocessor software and software development
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments with proper prioritization
- Hands-on dyno and vehicle testing experience combined with detailed analytical analysis of gathered data
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Visa sponsorship is not available
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Detailed experience in FMEA, P-diagram, and validation testing preferred
