About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Ford’s product safety investigations process within the Pre-Investigation Review team or Vehicle Hardware Critical Concern Review Group
- Help determine whether issues require further review based on occupant and road-user effects, compliance considerations, occurrence considerations, and other factors
- Support investigations evaluating potential safety defects or regulatory non-compliance related to vehicle hardware systems
- Lead collaboration with Product Development, Ford Customer Service Division, Supplier Technical Assistance, Manufacturing, and Office of General Counsel
- Develop company contacts to support timely root-cause ownership identification
- Coordinate special tests and field surveys to assess facts in safety and compliance evaluations
- Prepare presentations and reports, including engineering analysis and special vehicle/component demonstrations
- Create and maintain investigation documentation and submit regulatory documentation as necessary
- Maintain trackers, dashboards, and status reports across concurrent safety-defect and compliance investigations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- 1+ year of experience in engineering, quality, or project management
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving skills
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse, cross-functional organizations and global teams
- Effective oral communication and strong technical writing skills
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management
- Strong working knowledge of vehicle systems
- Strong understanding of automotive OEM product development lifecycles and manufacturing processes
- Strong working knowledge of Ford product development and manufacturing processes and database systems such as GSAR
- Visa sponsorship is not available
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering preferred
- Experience in Design & Release and/or Manufacturing preferred
- Experience providing technical assistance to legal teams, participating in legal investigations, or drafting regulatory documentation
