About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Operational Risk Team in enhancing the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process
  • Support development of FCE’s annual Non-SOX controls testing plan
  • Execute internal control testing procedures and evaluate the control environment and internal control over financial reporting
  • Support compliance with relevant UK banking regulations
  • Design, implement, and maintain effective operational and regulatory internal controls
  • Identify and evaluate control deficiencies and improvement opportunities
  • Communicate testing results and provide recommendations addressing elevated risk or deficiencies
  • Prepare materials for executive reporting to FCE leadership
  • Perform periodic and ad hoc reporting of internal control testing status and results
  • Collaborate with departments and functions to achieve cooperation and consensus
  • Support and partner with Internal Audit
  • Assist with special projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Professional qualification e.g. ACT, ACMA, CFA, ACA, or ACCA
  • Understanding of UK banking regulations and relevant legislation (PRA, FCA, SMCR)
  • Experience in Internal Control, Risk Management or Internal Audit
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated application of internal control principles, standards, and best practices
  • Ability to excel in a team environment and work independently
  • Proven ability to manage several projects concurrently and deliver high-quality, timely results
  • Curious mindset and ability to challenge functional leaders and solutions appropriately
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to build relationships across all organizational levels
  • Advanced technical and analytical skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to attend the Dunton office typically 4 days a week
  • Successful candidates must undergo a criminal record check
