About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own complex product design work end-to-end, from problem definition and discovery through concept development, prototyping, validation, delivery and post-launch iteration
- Operate autonomously on ambiguous problems, creating structure and direction
- Lead the evolution and redesign of the Ford Pro App, including its experience, navigation, interaction model and product architecture
- Evolve the app from a telematics companion into a broader mobile entry point to the Ford Pro ecosystem
- Design experiences for fleet managers, administrators and drivers
- Define scalable information architecture, navigation and interaction patterns
- Apply systems thinking across products, services, platforms, data and user roles
- Partner strategically with Product and Engineering to frame problems, identify opportunities, assess trade-offs and influence product direction
- Collaborate with Research, Data/Analytics and Design teams using qualitative and quantitative evidence
- Translate customer needs, business objectives and technical constraints into user journeys, flows, wireframes, prototypes and production-ready designs
- Create intuitive, accessible and polished mobile and web experiences
- Work with established design systems and identify needed patterns, components and interaction models
- Prototype at multiple fidelity levels
- Define success measures and use post-launch data and customer feedback to improve experiences
- Communicate design rationale to cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders
- Facilitate workshops, design reviews and working sessions
- Collaborate with other designers through critique and knowledge sharing
- Support cross-platform mobile, web and broader Ford Pro initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- 6+ years of product design experience
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of shipped digital products, excellent interaction and visual design craft, and impact of work
- 3+ years of experience with Figma, prototyping and design systems
- Understanding of usability, accessibility, information architecture and modern product-design practices
- 3+ years of experience designing complex digital products or ecosystems
- 6 months+ familiarity with emerging AI-assisted design and prototyping workflows
- Strong systems-thinking skills and experience simplifying complex products, workflows and ecosystems
- Master’s degree in UI/UX Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science or a related field is preferred
- Native mobile design experience, including familiarity with iOS and Android patterns, is preferred
- Ability to move between strategic/system-level thinking and detailed interaction/UI design
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Portfolio demonstrating role, problem, decision-making process and impact
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
