About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate software development efforts to align with defined requirements and integrate system components such as EVSE and inverter
- Design, develop, and test embedded software according to coding standards and MISRA C and V-cycle practices
- Develop software for safety-critical components, including battery protections
- Define test cases with the test team and provide detailed requirements and supporting documentation
- Contribute to algorithms and controls development for power electronics modules, including DCDC converters and onboard chargers
- Verify algorithm performance and reliability by testing power converters on high-voltage test benches
- Extract and document component-level requirements for battery management systems and power electronics
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, systems engineering, mechanical, and functional safety teams
- Participate in firmware, hardware, system, and functional safety reviews
- Develop and optimize calibration parameters to improve safety and performance
- Participate in functional safety and failure-avoidance analyses, including HARA and FMEAs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field
- 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation
- 6 years of experience implementing embedded C software within RTOS and bare-metal environments
- 6 years of experience developing and optimizing low-level peripheral drivers for ARM Cortex processor architecture
- 6 years of experience performing hardware circuit analysis and troubleshooting with oscilloscope, multimeter, and logic analyzer
- 6 years of experience integrating high-voltage components in an EV for system-level power conversion features
- 4 years of experience implementing CAN, CAN-FD, SPI, I2C, UART, LIN, and UDS communication protocols
- 4 years of experience developing software according to MISRA C and ISO 26262 functional safety requirements for ASIL B or higher
- 4 years of experience implementing battery management algorithms, including SOC, SOH, SOE, and SOT
- 2 years of experience developing firmware and real-time control algorithms for power converters, including DCDC converters operating at 100 kHz or higher
- 2 years of experience assessing software behavior and control algorithm performance using HIL platforms such as Typhoon, dSPACE, or OPAL-RT
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
