Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define, document, and maintain Ford's global network standards for wireless engineering and campus network architecture
  • Establish and govern configuration standards across global wireless and campus network environments
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex wireless and campus network issues
  • Diagnose and resolve network problems quickly and effectively
  • Drive the vision and execution of automation initiatives to improve network health, reduce manual intervention, and increase operational efficiency
  • Provide forward-looking technical leadership to the network engineering team
  • Partner with network engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure standards are understood, adopted, and consistently applied globally
  • Stay current with emerging networking technologies and industry best practices
  • Recommend and implement improvements to wireless and campus network standards
  • Mentor engineers and share best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, OR a combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on networking experience, including wireless engineering and campus network architecture
  • Deep knowledge of best-in-class network architectures and configuration standards
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex network issues quickly and effectively
  • Proven experience driving automation initiatives that improve network health and operational efficiency
  • Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to set direction and lead a team beyond reactive issue resolution
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across global, cross-functional teams
  • Relevant industry networking certifications (listed as an additional qualification)
  • Scripting or programming skills, e.g. Python (listed as an additional qualification)
  • Experience with Agile project methodologies and tools (listed as an additional qualification)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
