About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Extend, configure, and customize standard SAP Fiori applications and Fiori Elements, including List Reports, Analytical List Pages, and Overview Pages
Develop custom SAP Fiori/SAPUI5 applications using MVC architecture, JavaScript, XML, HTML5, and CSS
Configure and support SAP Fiori Launchpad functionality, including catalogs, roles, spaces, and pages
Design, develop, and optimize OData v2 and v4 services using SAP Gateway, CDS-based services, and RAP
Apply SAP Fiori design principles to deliver intuitive and consistent user experiences
Design and develop high-performance analytical and operational solutions using ABAP on SAP HANA, CDS Views, and AMDP
Develop scalable backend solutions using modern ABAP syntax and object-oriented ABAP
Build CDS Views with annotations, associations, access controls, and reusable data models
Apply HANA code-pushdown techniques to improve application and reporting performance
Maintain and modernize existing ABAP applications and reports, including ALV, classical, and interactive reports
Perform performance analysis and optimization using ST05, SAT, and ATC
Troubleshoot complex application, integration, and data-performance issues
Apply clean-core principles and SAP S/4HANA development standards
Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and engineering teams to clarify requirements and refine user stories
Participate in estimation, sprint planning, technical design discussions, and solution reviews
Apply automated testing and TDD practices where appropriate
Participate in peer code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing
Support CI/CD practices for SAP development
Create technical documentation and contribute to engineering standards
Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve performance, maintainability, and reliability

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years of hands-on SAP development experience with strong expertise in ABAP and object-oriented ABAP
Hands-on experience developing solutions on SAP S/4HANA
Strong experience with SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 application development
Demonstrated experience developing CDS Views and HANA-optimized ABAP solutions
Experience with ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP), SQLScript, or Table Functions
Hands-on experience developing and consuming OData services
Experience with SAP Gateway and modern SAP application development approaches such as RAP
Experience troubleshooting and optimizing ABAP, SQL, and CDS performance
Experience with Eclipse with ABAP Development Tools (ADT) and SAP Business Application Studio (BAS)
Understanding of SAP transport and software lifecycle management practices
ABAP, object-oriented ABAP, RAP, CDS Views, AMDP, SQLScript and Table Functions
SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, Fiori Elements, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, XML and JSON
SAP Gateway, OData v2/v4, RFC, BAPIs, and ALE/IDoc integration
Eclipse with ADT, SAP Business Application Studio, ABAP Unit, Git or gCTS, SAP transport management, and ATC, SAT, and ST05 tools
Strong analytical and structured problem-solving abilities
Ability to diagnose complex application, integration, and performance issues
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Collaborative working style with experience in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing
