About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient backend services using Java and Spring Boot
  • Build responsive web interfaces using Angular and React
  • Architect, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices for high availability and low latency
  • Implement business logic, performant data models, and optimized PostgreSQL schemas
  • Write clean, maintainable, documented code and drive engineering excellence through code reviews, unit testing, and technical documentation
  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform
  • Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
  • Package and manage applications using Docker and orchestrate them at scale
  • Automate environment provisioning and configuration management using Terraform or GCP Cloud Deployment Manager
  • Configure logging, tracing, and alerting using Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, or Grafana
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers
  • Partner with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and architects to translate business goals into technical implementations
  • Participate in and lead Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Stand-ups, Backlog Refinement, and Retrospectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • 6+ years of professional software development experience with Java (Java 8/11/17+)
  • 6+ years of deep, hands-on experience with the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security
  • 6+ years of experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
  • 6+ years of strong proficiency with PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field (preferred)
  • Strong production experience building single-page applications with modern React or Angular frameworks (preferred)
  • Official Google Cloud certification (preferred)
  • Experience with GitOps workflows, container security scanning, and declarative pipeline tools such as Tekton or ArgoCD (preferred)
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development, Pair Programming, and continuous integration practices (preferred)
  • Experience with message brokers or event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka or GCP Pub/Sub (preferred)
