About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own end-to-end technical design and delivery for features spanning UI and backend services from requirements discovery through production rollout
Act as technical lead on complex, multi-team initiatives and coordinate workstreams, dependencies, blockers, and timelines
Serve as the primary technical point of contact across project lifecycles
Align engineering teams, product owners, and architects around technical plans
Identify delivery risks and drive mitigation and tradeoff decisions
Translate business and strategic goals into technical roadmaps
Represent engineering in cross-team design reviews and planning
Investigate and resolve complex production issues across distributed microservices
Trace issues through code, configuration, CI/CD pipelines, cloud logs, and observability tools
Drive test automation strategy, regression coverage, and testing discipline
Guide framework and library upgrades across multiple services
Author technical documentation and discovery/assessment briefs
Independently build context in unfamiliar codebases, domains, configurations, pipelines, and documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
6+ years of professional software development experience
Backend development with Java and/or Kotlin
Experience building services with Spring Boot
3+ years of experience working with cloud platforms and infrastructure, including GCP, AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud technologies
2+ years of experience developing technical architecture, technical discovery, feasibility assessments, or technical assessment documentation
1+ year of experience serving as a technical lead or leading technical delivery across multi-team or cross-functional software projects
1+ year of frontend development experience using React, TypeScript, or a comparable modern UI framework
Visa sponsorship is not available
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred experience with Spring Security, OAuth2, reactive programming patterns, Spring WebFlux, REST and GraphQL APIs, quality and testing strategies, complex software initiatives, connected products/IoT/automotive technologies, cloud-native monitoring/logging/observability, and Jira or Confluence
