About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and Release Engineering for frames, mounts, spare tire winches, and/or tow hooks from forward-model development through launch
  • Manage the supply base
  • Support design-phase deliverables from initial concept to launch
  • Work with supplier manufacturing, STA, and quality teams to ensure design-for-assembly feasibility
  • Develop and maintain quality documents including DFMEA, SCCAF, and P-diagram
  • Support on-time prototype and production builds, DV/PV testing, and launch
  • Lead Structures OPD and SREA changes
  • Create and run stack-ups and review DVA
  • Manage supplier cost, timing, product changes, and manufacturing changes
  • Lead timely resolution of AIMS; identify ICA/PCA plans and 8D and 3x5Why workstreams
  • Apply engineering disciplines including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Perfect Drawing Plan, and Engineering Specifications
  • Lead, review, and approve frame-structure designs to meet component and vehicle requirements
  • Resolve durability, assembly, and functional issues
  • Coach and mentor peer engineers through Technical Club forums
  • Deliver material cost reduction, warranty reduction, and benchmarking

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience manufacturing and developing metal components and structure
  • Experience using CAD/CAE tools
  • Ability to optimize tool designs for stamping, welding, sheet metal, extrusions, and castings
  • Ability to perform feasibility analyses using CAD tools, including draft angle analysis, undercut detection, minimum bend radius validation for sheet metal, and clearance checks
  • Sheet metal joining experience, including MIG, SPR, laser weld, and spot welding
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Visa sponsorship is available
