About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Partner with internal manufacturing, MPL, finance, and invoicing systems and external customs solution/service providers to deliver end-to-end global customs solutions
Empower development teams to improve productivity and efficiency
Conduct experimentation and build products that accelerate developer flow
Enable developers to build and deploy applications on GCP, OpenShift, and GKE
Encourage contributions to internal customs projects and collaboration across NA, EU, and IMG teams
Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions for code acceleration and technical debt reduction using LLMs, Agentic AI, and RAG
Drive adoption of DevSecOps principles and practices throughout the development lifecycle
Provide expert guidance on developer tooling, best practices, and emerging technologies
Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on code quality, architecture, and best practices
Improve the internal development platform, processes, and overall developer experience
Collaborate with development teams, architects, product managers, security teams, and the Tools team
Explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
Present knowledge and insights at team meetings, workshops, and conferences
Represent development teams' needs to other departments

Requirements

What you’ll need

A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
8+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on Java, Angular, and Spring Boot
A deep understanding of object-oriented design principles and patterns
A proven track record of driving adoption of developer tools and best practices
Hands-on experience with VS Code, IntelliJ with CoPilot assistance, Git, Gradle, Tekton, Terraform, OpenShift/Kubernetes, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Cycode, SAST, FOSSA, and related modern development technologies
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and GCP
Familiarity with agile development methodologies
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience with developer enablement initiatives, DevSecOps, API design and development, microservices architecture, and mentoring/coaching junior developers
Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI, and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
Java, Angular, and Spring Boot are mandatory
GCP implementation experience is good to have
Familiarity with customs regulations, trade compliance processes, or FTA requirements is nice to have
Mainframe and COBOL are nice to have
Database experience including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle
