About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain technical documentation standards and templates for quality processes, test reports, and engineering records
- Establish document numbering, classification, and metadata conventions
- Partner with engineering and quality teams to standardize DFMEA/PFMEA, test report, and RCA templates
- Manage document control processes, including revision history, approval workflows, and archival, in coordination with the PLM Engineer
- Administer document review and approval cycles and ensure stakeholder sign-off before release
- Maintain obsolescence and retirement processes for superseded documentation
- Own creation, control, and governance of technical quality documentation across the Quality organization
- Support audit readiness, certification maintenance, organizational knowledge retention, and internal investigations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Writing, or related field
- 5+ years of experience with document control systems and technical writing in a regulated engineering environment
- Strong attention to detail and process discipline
- Experience with document control in a certified quality management system (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar) preferred
- Familiarity with PLM-integrated document control workflows preferred
- Experience supporting external audits in a documentation-lead capacity preferred
- Experience with document control software such as SharePoint, MasterControl, or Windchill DCM preferred
- PLM system integration knowledge preferred
- MS Office/technical writing tools proficiency preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally
- Occasional work in high-voltage or industrial environments may be required, with appropriate training and PPE
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
